Our Story Our Journey Our impact

Jan 10th 2026, became 10 (ten) years that Family Comfort NI began with a simple but powerful idea: to offer comfort, dignity and practical support to ethnic minority families during some of the most difficult times of their lives. What started as a small act of compassion and mutual understanding has grown into a charity that has supported hundreds of families across Northern Ireland and that is something we are incredibly proud of.

This event is not just about marking the passage of time but it’s about recognizing the people behind the journey. It’s about the families who trusted us, the volunteers who gave their time so generously, the staff and board who worked tirelessly behind the scenes and the funders and partners who believed in our vision and helped turn it into reality. The past years, there are more than 25 volunteers who have moved on into their various chosen endeavour

Our Inspiration

The vision was birthed from a personal experience of racism, discrimination and several assaults in those early days and years where support is minimal to victims of same and similar predicaments. The support platform that Family Comfort started giving at that time became the common ground victims could relate with; this ground still remains valid after 10 incredible years.

It is is also a moment to reflect on the strength of community. Family Comfort NI exists because of collaboration, kindness and shared commitment. This is truly a celebration of all of you who have been part of our story.

As we look back with gratitude, we also look forward with hope. The need for compassion and support remains and with your continued encouragement, we are committed to building on the past ten years to reach even more families in the years ahead.
